
Low cost airline offers mobile phone boarding service
CLANMO and Germanwings establish high class service standards

Top quality at a reasonable price: true to these words “low-cost carrier” Germanwings now offers its customers the opportunity to access all their most important flight services via their mobile phone. Alongside check in services, information regarding flight plan and status, and also air mile account enquiries, Germanwings customers are now able, with the aid of a ‘Mobile Boarding Pass’, to board their flight using their mobile phone. Responsibility for project development and realization was given to the Munich based CLANMO agency.
“These new mobile services will help us to secure our place in the highly competitive market of business travellers and frequent flyers considerably”, said Michael Klee, Senior Vice President of Germanwings. “In order to maintain this standard on a continuing basis we have found, in CLANMO, a competent mobile partner, whom we intend to work with on further exclusive mobile services.”
Germanwings has been a client of MindMatics AG since 2008 and has been working with its subsidiary CLANMO since its creation at the beginning of the year, receiving a full mobile interaction service package. This package now includes, in addition to long running added value and customer retention solutions, a new mobile service portal. Alongside conception, programming, and quality analysis the agency supports it clients through creative design solutions (usability) and proficient consultation. In order to achieve a smooth introduction of the new service channel, CLANMO realized the Germanwings Mobile Service through direct connection with the existing Airline Management System ‘Open Skies’ from the American company ‘Navitaire’.
